Endeley backs Kalu for Senate Presidency, describes him as prudent, transparent
Alegal luminary, Barr. Henry Endeley, has supported Senate Chief Whip Orji Uzor Kalu to emerge Senate President of the 10th Assembly.
He said Kalu, whom he has knew over 40 years ago as his school mate at University of Maiduguri, remains the best person for the job without prejudice to the rights and interest of other contestants.
The lawyer, while addressing journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital noted that Kalu possessed exceptional leadership skills, experience and competence for the job.
He said that the former Abia Governor is bold and courageous and will perform excellently as a Senate President because he is fearless, adding that Kalu would not allow the executive under his watch to undermine Nigerians.
He maintained that Kalu is a prudent and transparent administrator, a loyal party man, a unifier, bold, courageous and fearless with respect for individual choices.
Endeley said Kalu as Senate President would demonstrate exceptional leadership of keeping his party men and women in good stead pursuant to the overall party objectives and legislative interest of members so as to benefits generality of Nigerians.
The lawyer noted that Kalu will be transparent as Nigeria Senate President by making sure people are generally represented in the interest of the country irrespective of their religion or ethnicity.
“One of his great achievement was transparency in governance as he regularly publishes an audited account of his state in more than one newspaper at the time when serving as a governor.”
“He successful piloted the affairs of his state and completed eight years tenure and left the state in a good trajectory, he will do better if become the Senate President.”
“He is a unifier who understands the deep rooted differences between ethnic groups and nationalities of the nation with respect for our respective choices of religion or mode of worship.”
“As a governor of Abia state, he built a Mosque in the state and named it after a prominent son from the North East and invited another North Easterner from our alma Mater to be the Aminu Hajj for the Muslim community in Abia State,” he said.
Reacting to EFCC case hanging of Kalu’s neck, the lawyer said no final judgement has been pronounced on Kalu by a court of jurisdiction, saying Kalu will be vindicated at the end of the day because the case was meant to tarnished his image by disgruntled Nigerians.
