Ebonyi: Rain of Tears, As Umahi’s Gov’t Demolishes Ishieke Market Unannounced

The residents of Ishieke community in Ebonyi local government area of Ebonyi state are presently shedding hysterical tears over the damaged Governor David Umahi’s led administration has caused them amid COVID-19.

Famous Reporters recalls that not fewer than four hundred and fifty shades were on Tuesday, demolished at Ishieke Market, in Ebonyi state, leaving shop owners traumatised.

Feeding newsmen at the scene,  shop owners lamented the ruthless treatment meted out to them by the state government alleging that there was no any prior notice from the government before the demolition exercise.They further added that the governor had early asked those whose shops were marked out to relocate their belongings, a directive which they said was adhered to.

Further investigations revealed that Governor David Umahi had established hatred and disharmony among the people of Ishieke community, hence the unprecedented action.

“If the government is considerate, Odomoke road, Nweboko road has no connection with newly constructing road, they alleged.

Another source who pleaded anonymity said “Governor Umahi has done us more harm than good and has encouraged injustice, misconduct in his administration”.

Formous reporters also gathered from sources that the incumbent Governor, who has overtime, displayed a high degree of obscurity in his leadership style, has also on several occasions, damaged people’s shops without any prior notice and with no reference to the people’s emotions.
