“I’ve Not Been To Court Before”, Doris Ogala Kneels in Court, Apologises for Misconduct
After her courtroom outburst landed her in custody, Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has returned to court with an emotional apology, pleading for forgiveness as she awaits a decision on her bail application.
Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has knelt before Justice Akintayo Aluko in court, apologising for her earlier conduct after spending time at Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
Ogala expressed regret over her behaviour, admitting that she had never been to prison before and did not expect to find herself in custody.
The actress tendered the apology on Friday during her court appearance, following an incident on Wednesday in which she allegedly disrupted proceedings by shouting and singing inside the courtroom.
Her actions reportedly forced the court to suspend proceedings, affecting more than seven cases scheduled for hearing that day.
Speaking before the judge, Ogala appealed for forgiveness, acknowledging her conduct and expressing remorse over the incident.
Her lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, also apologised on her behalf before proceeding to present her bail application.
However, the prosecution urged the court to impose strict bail conditions, citing concerns over the actress’s social media activities.
Following the submissions from both parties, the court reserved its ruling on Ogala’s bail application until November 6, 2026.
The decision means the actress will remain in custody pending the court’s determination of her bail request.
