The Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) and Chairman, Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) Lagos State, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan today congratulated the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Pres. Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and Nigerians at large on the celebration of 25 unbroken years of democracy since 1999, Trek Africa Newspaper can report.

Noting that ‘this is Nigeria’s longest span of democracy’, the globally-recognized consultant hailed Nigerians for their resilience over the years. He then called on Nigerians to continue to exercise tolerance, restraint, and obedience of Democratic norms and tenets.

His message on Democracy Day, the Chairman/CEO of Executive Group and the international peace advocate of United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre (UN-POLAC) enthused: ‘Democracy is the only form of government which ensures that the will of the people prevails. It ensures that the greater majority have their say in the upturn of the outcomes of their lives, the future, and their country. For Nigeria to abide in this form of leadership shows that we desire a country where there are no sacred cows because the rule of law is supreme.’

‘It may be tough in recent times but I want to encourage Nigerians to let’s continue to give democracy a chance. We have experienced the authoritarian military era, may we not return to those dark days.’

He said: ‘I celebrate our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is a true Democrat and has remained so for decades. I pray that your policies will yield bountiful benefits for Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora. I also celebrate the people’s Governor of Lagos state, Gov. Sanwo-Olu for upholding Lagos State on a platform of steady growth and development.’

‘I see in the horizons better days are ahead. I wish us better days ahead. May we all enjoy these better days ahead’, Ogunsan concluded.
