Contrary to the rumour being spread in the Social Media, FamousReporters.com can authoritatively state that the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has not endorsed anyone of the three aspirants in the line for the forthcoming 2023 gubernatorial race.

This was disclosed by the Hon. Commissioner for Urban Renewal Delta State Government, Hon Olorogun Arthur Akpovwowo who vehemently debunked the information, describing it as unfounded.

Hon. Akpovwowo, during a courtesy visit of members of the Indigenous Correspondent Chapel of NUJ, Delta State, to his office, today, reiterated that the Governor had not made any pronouncement as regards a Successor.

“As a member of the State Executive Council (SEC), I’m unaware of such pronouncement by the governor.

“People can say what they want to say but it is not true. At least I am a member of the State Executive Council. If the Governor is going to send people on errand, at least he should send his Commissioners. It is not true, it remains in the realms of a rumour.

“His Excellency the Governor, has not spoken to my ears. People are bound to associate. Associations and pressure groups are met to adopt and very soon, you will see adoptions everywhere but that doesn’t mean that the governor has said so. Quoting him, the governor said there will be free and fair primaries and that is what he is going to do”, he insisted.

It would be recall that the social media was nearly caught fire yesterday, following a publication by the publisher of Secret Reporters, Fejiro Oliver.

According to the post: “Okowa makes U-Turn on Delta 2023’, he added that Okowa’s Director of Protocol, Ifeanyi Eboigbe has been chosen to be Oborevwori’s Deputy Governor.

Oliver continued: “Barrister Kingsley Otuaro asked to stop campaign and announce step down. Delta Political Vanguard to officially announce this soon,” he said.

Fejiro’s claim may not be far from the truth because the Executive Assistant to the Governor On Communications, Barr. Fred Latimore, on Sunday morning in one of his features said Delta State is Sherified, a clue that the Speaker has been picked.
