There was jubilation across Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State as Chika Ishionwu emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Ikwuano State Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Returning Officer officially declared Ishionwu winner after the collation of results, confirming him as the party’s flag bearer for the forthcoming state assembly election.
Moments after the announcement, the atmosphere in different parts of the council area became electrified with celebrations as party supporters, youths and women sang, danced and rejoiced over his emergence.
For many residents and APC faithful, the victory was seen as a reward for years of grassroots engagement, empowerment and humanitarian support attributed to the popular Ikwuano politician.
Reacting to the outcome of the exercise, Ishionwu expressed profound gratitude to his supporters, the leadership of the APC, and the people of Ikwuano for what he described as overwhelming confidence in his leadership capacity.

Describing his emergence as “a victory for the entire people of Ikwuano,” the APC candidate assured constituents that his emergence would usher in accelerated development, inclusiveness and transformational representation in the constituency.

Meanwhile, correspondents of Famous Reporters who monitored the exercise across various polling units observed enthusiastic celebrations among several residents, particularly beneficiaries of Ishionwu’s empowerment and humanitarian initiatives.

Many elderly women, widows and youths were seen singing and dancing in excitement, expressing optimism over what they described as a brighter political future for the constituency.
