Champion’s League: What Rep Onuigbo About Umuahia North, South Performance

The member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/ South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives has congratulated Umuahia South and Umuahia North Local Government Area Football teams for emerging Champions and second runners up respectively at the the just concluded Abia Governor’s Cup.

Recall that Umuahia South blazed to victory after a 4-3 penalty shootout win over Aba South LGA last Friday to be crowned Champions in the maiden edition of the Abia Governor’s Cup.

Similarly, a scintillating performance from Umuahia North saw them beat their counterparts from Ukwa East 4-2 to finish as the third best overall team at the competition.

In a statement by Nnaemeka Oruh, Media Adviser to Hon Onuigbo, the Federal Lawmaker said he received the news of the superlative performance of the two teams from his constituency, with so much joy.

The lawmaker maintained that the victory is a display of the indomitable spirit of the average man or woman from Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency.

While commending their efforts, Hon Onuigbo wished the players and their coaches success in their future endeavors.

In another development, Rep. Onuigbo urged all Abians to be good citizens, while calling for a peaceful coexistence among one another.

Chief Onuigbo who recently left the PDP for his heartthrob, the All Progressives Congress, APC, advised intending members of the party to feel free to identify with the party.

Furthermore, he reassured his constituents of his determination to deliver to them dividends of democracy.

He used the medium to charge the people to adhere to laid down COVID-19 protocols, while praying for God’s intervention in that regard.
