BREAKING! NYAKO SAGA: DSS bans Kanu’s Special Counsel, Ejimakor, 3 others from visiting

The Special Counsel to the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has lamented about how he and four other Lawyers were banned from meeting with their client, as has been a norm and in line with court’s verdict.

According to a release made available to famousreporters.com, all attempts to meet with Kanu by his team of Lawyers were like ‘a bucket of water off a duck’s back’, an awful situation which left the counsels feeling abashed.

Ejimakor who had visited Kanu in the company of his other colleagues, namely: Barr. Nnaemeka Ejiofor, Barr. Mandela Omegworo and Barr. Patrick, bemoaned the blunt refusal of the DSS to allow them access to their client who has been in custody since the year 2021, on the leave of the federal government of Nigeria.

The statement read in detail:

“Today, in violation of subsisting court orders & the Constitution, the DSS blocked the Legal Team of MAZI NNAMDI KANU from meeting with him at the detention facility. It appears that the DSS has cancelled all future visitations to #MNK as a retaliation against #MNK “for chasing away Justice Binta Nyako from the case & causing her embarrassment”. What this means is that the DSS, acting on behalf of the federal government of Nigeria, has unlawfully isolated #MNK from his Lawyers, thus making his solitary confinement absolute. I don’t know when next, if ever, it may be possible to see #MNK again.”Signed: Aloy Ejimakor, Esq. on behalf of #MnkLegalTeam.”

Meanwhile , according to Ejimakor (Esq.) in the viral video which was shot in the premises of the Department of State Services headquarters (DSS) following a seemingly futile attempt, suspects that the reason for the shocking behaviour of the DSS could not be as a result of the recent incident which took place on Tuesday, September 24 during the recent case.

Famousreporters.com reports that Kanu, who expressed loss of confidence in the Judge handling his matter, Justice Binta Nyako, to step aside.

Speaking from the DSS office in, Aloy Ejimakor explained that he alongside his fellow counsels to the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) had paid a visit to their client (Kanu) with a view to discussing incident that occurred in the court on September 24 and the way forward as regards the extant case.

Hear him:

“All four of us came today to the DSS headquarters to meet with our client today to discuss what happened on the 24 of September and the way forward on this case but we were not allowed by the DSS to meet with our client. We came by a few minutes to 2pm and up until now which is some minutes to 5pm, we have not been allowed to meet with our client so we are about to take our leave and we have our suspicions.

Continuing, he said: “Our suspicion which is credible is that the DSS and the federal government are not happy that our client requested the Judge handling his matter to withdraw from the case. If not this reason, what other reason could explain this unconstitutional behaviour of preventing Lawyers from meeting with their client who is under trial.

“So, we need.the world to know that this thing furthers what the government of the day or the DSS has been doing that actually complicated the trials of this case that culminated in our client being frustrated and loosing confidence in the Judge handling this case and which resulted in our client, on 24 September requesting the Judge to withdraw form the case. So, we decided to make this video to inform the world about what is happening and we are going to back it up with another press statement.
Thank you.
