Breaking! Nollywood Loses 2 Filmmakers Simultaneously Drinking Calypso Served by Producer
Another tragedy has struck again, as the Industry simultaneously lost two key members, Mr. Evans and Nnunu, popular Actor and Videographer, respectively.
The heartbreaking incident was said to have occurred at a movie location in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, shortly after shooting.
This devastating incident happened, today , Friday, April 18, 2025 and
was shared in a Facebook post by one Chukwudi M Udokwu.
According to Udokwu, the actor, Evans and Nnunnu the videographer started vomiting after drinking Calypso a blend of spirit popular in the Nigerian market.
Narrating the tragedy in his post, he said their colleagues had mistaken the reactions in the victims’ body organs for a minor stomach upset, up until the stomach pain became unbearably severe, prompting them to rush them to the hospital, where they regrettably gave up the ghost.
In his post, Chukwudi Udokwu wrote…
“Black Friday in Nollywood as we lost a young and fast rising actor Evans and a Director of photography Nnunu
In Owerri Imo state.
“Details; according to our source; after shooting last night the producer was happy and he bought them drinks (calypso) in appreciation on how they shot that day. According to the report after they had consumed the liquor a few hours later four of them who took the drink started having reactions such as vomiting.
“The pain was unbearable other crew and actors were Alerted; they thought it was a mere stomach ache, they didn’t know it was extremely serious. They were busy applying first aid not knowing it’s an Emergency matter.
“The DOP and the actor were already on the ground battling with their lives.Before they could get a vehicle to convey them to the hospital they already gave up.
When the vehicle came they took four of them to the hospital (FMC) Owerri. Reaching there the doctor confirmed Evan and nnunu dead.
The remaining two were placed on oxygen and we pray God sees them through. Amen

“The drink might be an expired drink and moreover, the Federal government has banned calypso so who sold it to the producer? Let investigations reveal the truth.
