JUST IN: Tension in Nollywood, As Police Arrest Actor Jerry Williams

Months after leaving the rehabilitation centre, Nigerian actor Jerry Williams has been reportedly arrested by the police.

Reportedly, Jerry was whisked away from his home in Delta State by the officers on Monday morning, July 21, 2025.

The arrest was said to have been carried out with the help of Nwafor Franklin, popularly known as Izutech.

The incident was brought to the public domain by Actor Stanley Ontop through a video on social media, wherein it was alleged that Jerry was vigorously taken to Benin, Edo State.

He expressed fear for Jerry’s safety and accused Izutech of owing N2.5 million, which was allegedly collected from producers who wanted to feature Jerry in upcoming films.

Stanley also called on the public to hold Izutech responsible if anything goes wrong with Jerry’s wellbeing.

“Let it be known that Jerry Williams is in Izu’s custody. If anything happens to Jerry, Izu should be held responsible”.

The incident comes shortly after Jerry Williams made a comeback to Nollywood, following a break for rehabilitation linked to substance abuse.

THE COURT SET THE BAIL AT N10 MILLION.

In another development, a Federal High Court in Lagos granted bail to activist Scott Iguma, yesterday, Monday.

Iguma is currently facing trial for allegedly posting a false video and issuing threats to life.

The ruling was given by Justice Friday Oghazi, who also directed that Iguma must provide one surety with the same bail amount.

The surety must either own property within the court’s jurisdiction or be a civil servant with at least grade level 12, working with the Federal or Lagos State Government.
