BREAKING NEWS: Nollywood Industry Loses another Veteran Actor

Nollywood Industry has lost another veteran actor, Fabian Adibie.

He passed at the age of 81.

This was disclosed by Celebrity Journalist and movie producer, Seun Oloketuyi in the early hours of Wednesday, August 20.

Seun posted that “Things Fall Apart actor, Fabian Adibie, is dead. Died 2:30am this morning.”

The news of his passing which spread like wildfire, has elucidated an outpouring of grief across social media and entertainment circles.

Nollywood actor, Fabian Adibe, attained stardom for his role in the classic television series, Things Fall Apart.

Adibe, who celebrated his 81st birthday in December 2024, reportedly died peacefully around 2:30 am on Wednesday, August 20.

The actor and television personality led Nigeria to its first Commonwealth Art Festival in 1965 before launching his acting career in 1987 with the acclaimed adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart.

He portrayed the character Ogbuefi Uzowulu in the series, acting alongside Pete Edochie, and his calm demeanor and powerful performances endeared him more to many viewers. ,

Moreso, Veteran actor Chief Adibe was celebrated for his performances in numerous classic films, notably his role in the screen adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart.

As the Nollywood and broader entertainment community mourns his loss, tributes are flowing in from fans and colleagues, describing him as a “true legend” and hoping his soul rests in peace.
