Breaking news: Court finds Nnamdi Kanu guilty of terrorism charges

“The Federal High Court in Abuja has found IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu guilty on count one of the terrorism charges against him, with Justice James Omotosho citing “uncontroverted evidence” of inciting broadcasts

ABUJA — The Federal High Court in Abuja has found the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, guilty on count one of the terrorism charges filed against him by the Federal Government.

Delivering the ruling, Justice James Omotosho held that the prosecution had presented “uncontroverted evidence” showing that Kanu made a series of incendiary broadcasts that allegedly incited violence and killings in furtherance of his separatist campaign for Biafra.

The court stated that it was convinced that the broadcasts attributed to Kanu were capable of provoking unrest and constituted a breach of national security. According to Justice Omotosho, the evidence tendered was credible and sufficient to establish the elements of the alleged offence.
