Breaking!! Man dies Stealing Electric Cables from Ex-Rep Onuigbo’s transformer

A yet to be identified young man in his early 40’s was reportedly electrocuted while attempting to steal electricity cables from a transformer, an electricity project project which was attracted to the community by a former House of Representatives Member, Rep. Sam Onuigbo.

The ugly incident occurred along Okwe-ukwu/Obohia-Ibere axis, in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State.

In a viral video, the victim could be seen, lying lifelessly on the floor.

It was gathered that the suspected robber had gone to steal cables from a transformer which was described by the man who spoke behind the camera, as “Onuigbo’s transformer” ,
yesterday’s night, Friday, March 28, 2025, while there was a power outage. However, luck ran out of her as the electricity was restored and he was electrocuted.

Hear the voiceover: “this is Onuigbo’s transformer and these are the people who came to steal cables from the transformer when there was no electricity supply last night. But, unfortunately for him, NEPA restored power and he was electrocuted.

When contacted, Mr. Nicholas Owo, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), of Ikwuano Police Station, Isiala Oboro confirmed the incident.

He disclosed that the remains of the suspected robber had been deposited in the mogue.
