Dr State for Mines and Steel Development, Nigeria. ‘APC would’ve won landslide if Ogah had contested’, – Party Stakeholder, Ogbonna
…Says Ikechi Emenike not loved by Abians

By Charity Uwakwe, Abia

A Stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress, APC Abia State Chapter, and the Publisher of Rising Sun Newspaper, High Chief Joshua Ogbonna says APC failed in the State in the 2023 gubernatorial election, because of lack of coordination among members coupled with the caliber of the candidate featured for the contest.

He lamented that the people of Abia never took liking to the candidate, stressing that the outcome of the March 18 governorship election glaringly showed the people’s displeasure with the party’s candidate, High Chief Ikechi Emenike.

Sir Ogbonna without mincing words, stated that the end result of the exercise in the State would have been a lot rossy for party, had it been Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah, a former Minister of the Federal Republic of Niger, had been allowed to flag the party’s ticket.apc

While restating his membership of Uche Ogah extraction, the renowned pen master described Emenike as a narcissist and an enemy of the unity of the party, saying: “He is a man that has never liked the party to be in unity. I see him as someone who wanted and still wants everything for himself unless he’ll change tomorrow.”

“People didn’t want him and that was glaring. So, we failed and he’s in court with Dr. Alexander Chioma Otti of Labour Party, LP who is now the Governor of Abia State.”

The Media Director of Abia Rejoice and the Deputy Director -General of Abia Rejoice for Abia Central, a political structure of Ogah, reiterated that the party would have emerged victorious, had the ticket been given to the latter whom he described as one with the mandate of the masses.

“I am still a member of APC of Uche Ogah extraction APC has just finished election though we failed because of the crisis in our party; we failed because of the candidate we had, High Chief Ikechi Emenike.

He blamed Emenike for diving the party, and failing to act as a father to members especially House of Assembly candidates of the election, who according to him, and like the latter, equally secured their tickets through the Court.

Hear him:
“We failed because of the candidate the party featured and again, the thing was not coordinated. APC would have won landslide if Uche had contested.”

“And again, the man who even won in the Court refused to bring in every other person. And even, the real House members that were even declared by the Court because himself also came into the race through the Court, so the real House members, he didn’t carry them along. He was not even campaigning with them neither did he even campaign for them. So, he did it on his own and the party was disjointed, disorganized. No house that is not united can stand and fight a battle.”

“He’s our brother from the same Umuahia, whichever way you look at it; I’ll advise him to change his pattern of politics. This world is not a permanent place to anybody, he should see the other person as a human being. There is nothing that is permanent except change, he should be able to see the other person as a human being and not only himself.

Continuing, he added that: “Nothing makes him a special being. From what he did during the election, he needs to go back to the drawing board. There’s need for him to do a rethink, a change of mind, a change of mindset and let him not look down as anybody. Nobody stays at his gate for his daily meal. All of us are for this Abia State and somebody like me, I have been fighting for the total freedom of this State from the days of the Military when all of them were hiding under their beds so are they going to chase into his House? No! So, it’s not a one man show.”
