“Abia entrepreneur and politician Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso applauds Governor Alex Otti for delivering the Ozu Abam–Ndi Okoreke–Arochukwu Road and Igwu River (Omenuko) Bridge, describing the projects as historic infrastructure boosting economic growth and connectivity across Abia State.”

Abia-born renowned entrepreneur, politician, and founder of the CHIMA ANYASO FOUNDATION, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, popularly known as Ofuji, has applauded Governor Alex Chioma Otti for delivering what he described as a historic infrastructure milestone in Abia State.

Dr. Anyaso gave the commendation shortly after the commissioning of the Ozu Abam–Ndi Okoreke–Arochukwu Road, describing the project as a transformative development that will significantly improve transportation, trade, and inter-community relations across the region.

Highlighting the importance of the newly completed Ozu Abam–Ndi Okoreke–Arochukwu Road, the prominent businessman noted that the road project and the reconstructed Igwu River (Omenuko) Bridge mark a turning point in the history of Abam communities.

He recalled that the bridge was originally constructed during the colonial era to link Bende, which served as a colonial district headquarters, with surrounding counties including Arochukwu. According to him, years of neglect by successive administrations turned the bridge into a dangerous death trap, leading to several tragic incidents and severe hardship for commuters.

Dr. Anyaso stressed that the reconstruction of the Omenuko Bridge has now restored a vital economic and social link, providing seamless access between Abam communities, Bende, and other parts of the state.

He further described Governor Otti as a visionary leader committed to delivering sustainable infrastructure and building what he called a “New Abia” driven by economic expansion, improved connectivity, and enhanced quality of life for residents.

According to Anyaso, the projects stand as enduring legacy achievements that will stimulate commerce, ease transportation challenges, and foster stronger unity among communities within the region.
