Abians Have Suffered, We Need Collective Efforts To Be Rescued From PDP’s Grip, Says Rising Sun Publisher, Ogbonna

A stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the publisher of The Rising Sun Newspaper, Sir Joshua Ogbonna says a collective effort is required to rescue the State from the age long, strong grip of the ruling party, People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Sir Ogbonna, who has bemoaned the protracted agonies as suffered by Abians since the era of PDP in the State, however, amidst a glimmer of hope, expressed his profound gratitude to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari for for signing into Law, the new Electoral Act.

Ogbonna stated this in an exclusive interview with famousrepprters.com, at his office in Umuahia, the State’s capital, noting that, “I have only one vote and I must use it judiciously”, he said.

The brave son of Ibeku kingdom stated point-blank that, the said Electoral Act might be the only possible means through which Abia could be eventually liberated from the perceived subjugation of the ruling party, whom he accused of leaving the citizens in abject poverty over the years.

On his views about what could be the attitude of Abians towards the PDP as it regards the governorship election, the die-hard APC stakeholder said:

“It’s up to them, for this number of years they have suffered; with the kind of root PDP has in this State, it requires a collective effort to pull them off. Thank God for Buhari, for giving Nigerians this new Electoral Act. Maybe that’s the only way through which we can be free.

“If it were to be the same old Electoral Act, PDP will still come back here and tell you to go to hell.

“You want an Ngwa man to take over power, let’s see how it works. If Abia is okay, it’s. The minority will have their say while the majority will have their way. That’s democracy”, he concluded.
