An Akwa Ibom State High Court has sentenced 47-year-old Samuel Adesina to 30 years’ imprisonment for raping his 14-year-old daughter and committing incest at his residence in Uyo.
An Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo has sentenced a 47-year-old man, Samuel Adesina, to 30 years’ imprisonment for raping his 14-year-old biological daughter.
Adesina, a native of Ondo State, was found guilty of rape and incest committed at his residence on Aka Itiam Road, Uyo.
During investigations, the convict reportedly admitted in an extra-judicial statement that he had been having sexual intercourse with his daughter since May 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Delivering judgment on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Justice Gabriel Ette found Adesina guilty of both offences after evaluating the evidence presented before the court.
The judge applied the provisions of Section 135(1) of the Evidence Act 2011, as amended, in determining the defendant’s guilt.
Consequently, Adesina was sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment for rape and an additional 10 years for incest, bringing his total prison sentence to 30 years.
The judgment marks the conclusion of the case against the 47-year-old man over the sexual abuse of his minor daughter.
