DELTA STATE — The Delta State Online Media Coordinator of Tompolo’s PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Comr. Akpovoke Otiti, is set to engage media practitioners from the Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency as the movement prepares to strengthen its communication and grassroots mobilisation activities ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Otiti, who is also the National President of the Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG), said preparations had been concluded for a strategic media parley designed to foster engagement with online publishers, editors, reporters and other media professionals in the constituency.
He explained that the meeting would focus on political communication, voter education and the role of digital media in disseminating information about the programmes and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State.
According to him, the initiative is part of the movement’s broader communication strategy to promote awareness of the party’s agenda and strengthen engagement with media stakeholders across the state.
Otiti noted that the proposed parley would also provide an opportunity to discuss responsible political reporting, factual information sharing and the importance of issue-based campaigns during the election period.
He stressed that the media remains an important stakeholder in the democratic process, adding that professionalism, accurate reporting and effective communication are essential to keeping voters informed and encouraging peaceful electoral participation.
The GOMEP-NG president further reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to expanding its activities across Delta State, with a focus on communicating the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Government and the programmes of APC candidates.
He expressed optimism that the engagement would strengthen interaction between the movement and media practitioners while providing a platform for discussions on political communication and public awareness.
Otiti said the date and venue of the media parley would be communicated to invited participants in due course.
