GOMEP-NG Mourns Victims of Nigerian Air Force Aircraft Crash in Ondo

GOMEP-NG has expressed grief over the fatal Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State, offering condolences to the victims’ families and calling for a thorough investigation.
GOMEP-NG National President Akpovoke Otiti described the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash as a grievous tragedy for the nation and the victims’ families.
ABUJA — The Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic crash of a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft in Ondo State, involving 32 people on board.
The guild described the incident as a grievous loss to the nation, particularly to the families of those who lost their lives in the crash.
In a statement issued in the early hours of Tuesday in Abuja, GOMEP-NG National President, Comrade Akpovoke Otiti, said the tragedy had cast a pall of sorrow over the Nigerian Armed Forces, the aviation sector and the country at large.
Otiti conveyed the guild’s condolences to the bereaved families, the Federal Government and the Nigerian Armed Forces, urging Nigerians to stand in solidarity with those affected by the tragedy.
> “The incident is a grave shock and a regrettable tragedy for our nation, especially for the immediate families of those who lost their lives,” Otiti said.
GOMEP-NG also extended its sympathies to the colleagues and loved ones of the victims, praying for strength, comfort and fortitude for them during the difficult period.
The guild commended the relevant authorities for their response to the incident and called for a comprehensive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
It said establishing the cause of the accident would be important in ensuring accountability and strengthening measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
