2027: Obingwa West Rallies Behind Anosike, Appolos as PDP Unites for Victory

As the 2027 elections gather momentum, the battle for Abia State is taking shape with Obingwa West making a bold political statement. Thousands of PDP supporters, community leaders, and stakeholders have publicly declared unwavering support for Dr. Kelechi Anosike and Enyinnaya Appolos, signalling what many describe as a major boost for the party’s grassroots campaign.

Obingwa West has declared support for PDP governorship candidate Dr. Kelechi Anosike and House of Assembly candidate Enyinnaya Appolos ahead of the 2027 elections. The declaration was made during a thank-you rally in Isiko, where party leaders urged unity and intensified grassroots mobilisation for electoral victory.

The people of Obingwa West in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State have openly declared their support for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Kelechi Anosike, and the party’s House of Assembly candidate for Obingwa West State Constituency, Enyinnaya Appolos, ahead of the 2027 general election.

The declaration came during a well-attended thank-you rally held at Isiko, the country home of Appolos, where party leaders, faithful, traditional stakeholders, youth and women groups, and supporters reaffirmed their commitment to the PDP and its candidates.

Speaking at the rally, Appolos expressed profound appreciation to the PDP leadership and members for entrusting him with the party’s ticket to contest the Obingwa West State Assembly seat. He also thanked delegates and party members for nominating Dr. Kelechi Anosike as the PDP governorship candidate.

According to him, the confidence reposed in both candidates represents a sacred responsibility that would be repaid through dedication, effective representation, and electoral victory.

“The only reason I have called you together today is to thank you for nominating me as the PDP candidate for Obingwa West State Constituency and for nominating Dr. Kelechi Anosike as our governorship candidate.

“I want to assure you that the PDP is fully prepared for the 2027 election, and by the grace of God, we shall emerge victorious. I also assure every loyal party member working tirelessly for our success that everyone who contributes to the party’s victory will equally share in the benefits of that victory.”

Furthermore, Appolos urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation across all wards and polling units. He stressed that unity, discipline, and sustained engagement with voters would be critical to the PDP’s success in the 2027 polls.

Also addressing the gathering, the PDP leader in Obingwa West, Chief Ezinwa Abiri, described both Anosike and Appolos as credible, competent, and experienced leaders capable of advancing the interests of the people.

Similarly, the PDP Chairman in Obingwa Local Government Area, Ahamefula Egbulefu, assured members that the party remained united and fully prepared to deliver overwhelming victories for both candidates during the 2027 general election.

One of the major highlights of the rally was the formal presentation of the PDP flag to Enyinnaya Appolos as the party’s official standard-bearer for the Obingwa West State Constituency election.

The event also witnessed the official return of Chief I. I. Nwamuo, a former Deputy Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area, to the PDP. Announcing his return, Nwamuo pledged to work closely with party faithful to ensure the PDP records a decisive victory in the 2027 elections.

The rally attracted party executives, ward leaders, community stakeholders, youth and women groups, and supporters from across Obingwa West, all of whom pledged to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and work collectively towards delivering victory for the PDP in the forthcoming elections.
