Hon. Emeka Atuma says he is stepping forward with a vision he believes can transform the district and unlock a new era of prosperity, development and inclusive growth.”

“Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, APC aspirant for the Abia Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, has pledged to deliver effective representation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, agricultural transformation, economic growth and transparent leadership if elected into the Senate. He said his ambition is driven by service, accountability and a commitment to improving the lives of people across the six local government areas of Abia Central.”

UMUAHIA – Former member of the House of Representatives and the All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for Abia Central Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering purposeful leadership, sustainable development and effective representation for the people of Abia Central ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking recently in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, Atuma said his aspiration to represent the district in the Senate is driven not by personal ambition or political prestige, but by a sincere desire to improve the lives of the people and attract meaningful development to the area.

According to him, extensive consultations across the six local government areas of Isiala Ngwa North, Isiala Ngwa South, Ikwuano, Umuahia North, Umuahia South and Osisioma Ngwa revealed a common demand among residents for responsive leadership that delivers tangible results.

“My aspiration to represent Abia Central in the Senate is inspired by a genuine desire to provide purposeful leadership, effective representation and transformative development for our people,” Atuma stated.

The APC chieftain assured residents that if elected in 2027, he would prioritize policies and programmes capable of accelerating economic growth, improving healthcare, expanding educational opportunities, empowering youths and creating jobs.

Infrastructure Development a Major Priority
Atuma identified poor road networks and inadequate public infrastructure as major challenges confronting many communities in the district.

Consequently, he pledged to work closely with relevant federal agencies and stakeholders to facilitate the rehabilitation and reconstruction of critical roads connecting communities across the senatorial district.

According to him, improved infrastructure will not only enhance mobility but also stimulate economic activities, attract investments and improve the overall quality of life of residents.

Economic Empowerment and Business Growth
Recognizing the entrepreneurial strength of the people of Abia Central, Atuma unveiled plans for a comprehensive economic empowerment programme targeted at artisans, traders, manufacturers, small and medium-scale enterprises, and young innovators.

He noted that strategic partnerships and federal intervention programmes would be leveraged to expand access to grants, low-interest financing, vocational training, digital skills development and enterprise support initiatives.

“Our people are hardworking and innovative. What they need is access to opportunities and the right support system to thrive,” he said.

Agricultural Transformation Agenda
The former lawmaker also outlined an ambitious agricultural development plan aimed at boosting food production and economic prosperity across the district.

Under the proposed initiative, farmers would benefit from mechanized farming support, improved seedlings, agricultural financing, extension services and storage facilities.

Atuma said the programme would help increase productivity, create employment opportunities and position Abia Central as a leading agricultural hub in the South-East.
Youth Empowerment at the Centre
The APC aspirant emphasized that youth development would remain a key pillar of his legislative agenda.

He pledged to champion initiatives focused on quality education, vocational training, entrepreneurship support, technology-driven skills acquisition and employment creation.
According to him, investing in young people remains essential to securing the future prosperity of Abia Central.

Commitment to Accountability
Atuma further promised to run an open and accessible constituency office anchored on transparency and regular engagement with residents.

He disclosed plans to institutionalise town hall meetings, stakeholder consultations and community engagement forums to ensure constituents remain actively involved in governance and decision-making processes.

He therefore called on residents to support his aspiration, stressing that unity, shared purpose and commitment to the common good are essential to building a prosperous future for Abia Central.

“My commitment is clear. My vision is defined. My resolve is unwavering. By the grace of God and with the support of our people, Abia Central shall witness a new era of effective representation, sustainable development and shared prosperity.”
