2023 Gubernatorial Race: My Experts And I Have Developed Blueprint for New Abia- Prof. Greg
Prof Gregory Ikechukwu Ibe, the proprietor and Pro-Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, (GUU), Abia State, has pledged his unrelenting commitment to move the state to higher economic pedestal which would be beneficial to all and sundry.
Making his intention known at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters in Umuahia, while declaring his intention to take over the leadership of Abia in the forthcoming 2023 gubernatorial election, the erudite scholar and World Bank/ECOWAS consultant disclosed that he and some experts have developed a blueprint for a New Abia.
His word, “I have taken copious amount of time together with other human capital experts to develop a blueprint out of which I have derived my manifesto, a New Abia, that ensure Abia State is placed on higher pedestal which will benefit all and sundry.
“Of a truth, my blue print mirrors the 30-year developmental plan of Dr Okezie Ikpeazu which will be synergized to achieve optimum outcome fo our home state of Abia. In my manifesto, which is populated with workable ideas, social issues of employment, human security and of properties are well addressed
“Our formula is enshrined in the manifesto which in turn has been derived from my blueprint of service delivery will lead to creation of fulfilling jobs for our young and middle aged population while our elders will have a accrued benefit”.
According to PDP aspirant, securing Abia State has been aptly addressed because his team has put together a psychological plan that encompasses kitting security agencies, driving intelligence-led protection of the citizenry while ensuring that young people are amply occupied with activities that they not have time to engage in crime.
On payment of salaries, the aspirant said he has also developed a formula which will see to sustained payment of worker’ salaries and pensions as at and when due, even as he used the opportunity to outline his many contributions to the PDP.
“Since the commencement of political activities ushering the democratic dispensation of the year 1999, I have been with the PDP as a stalwart, faithful in the cause of the party and contributing as it is required of a loyal party man.
“I have discharged responsibilities in properly supporting and situating the party and its programmes at my Ward level in Achara/Mbagwu (Ward 7), local government area level at Isuikwuato, at the state level and ultimately at the national level”, he stated.
He therefore pledged to run “an open access government that will be decentralized with the people having direct access to their governor”, adding “There will be direct state government presence felt in all 17 LGA’s of the state where the governor and key state officials shall be received in audience and where-in they will serve that particularly LGA on a consecutive basis throughout each business year”.
