The commissioner of police, Abia state Command, CP Ene Okon has alleged that Abia state is the only place where Criminals are celebrated and protected by the people.
The commissioner made this assertion while briefing Journalists today at Police headquarters, umuahia, as he regretted that the obvious tranquility residents of t
he state had enjoyed ever since the death of a dreaded and notorious armed robber, one Sampson Iheukwumere Nwokocha, aka “Grave”, was truncated by the activities of the members of Grave’s gang.
Speaking amidst bitterness, CP Ene disclosed that the various gangs of criminals who were arraigned at the station had terrorised residents in the area, as all previous efforts by efforts were futile, upon until they met their Waterloo 2hours after their last operation, when they were intercepted by gallant patrol teams on Operation Puff Adder.

CP Ene revealed that traditional rulers in most had warned against the arrest of criminals in the area as any attempt by the police to bust these hoodlums would be thwarted by some youths as allegedly instructed by the community leaders, lamenting “this is a place where crime and criminalities are celebrated”, he said.
“There are communities in Umuahia where the Ezes have decreed that no one should invite the police to arrest anyone. These are people who have criminal viruses in them but I promise to leave Umuahia better than i met it”, he assured.
