The Mayor of Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, Mayor Osinachi Nwaka says his administration will rigorously supervise all Special Citizens who are beneficiaries of his benevolence on the last Friday of every year, to ensure a sagacious use of the funds.

Nwaka who is also the President and Founder of New Era Foundation (NEF) stated this today, Friday, February 23, during his monthly empowerment programme with Ikwuano indigenes living with disabilities tagged: Thank God It’s Last Friday With Dr. Alex Otti, Mayor Nwaka”, at the Council headquarters.

The renowned Philanthropist who insisted that his team would leave no stone unturned in making sure that the beneficiaries make prudent investment with the funds, as he urged the latter to utilize their funds judiciously.

Meanwhile, he highlighted that the program was designed to empower active individuals from the Council.

Furthermore, Nwaka reaffirmed his commitment to relentlessly support the beneficiaries, while ensuring that they would continue to receive ongoing assistance to thrive and succeed despite the odds.

Responding, to Nwaka’s magnanimity, the beneficiaries, Mr. Alexander Godwin, a native of Obugwu Ariam-Usaka and Chioma Onyekwere of Iyalu Ibere, extended their gratitude to the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, and Mayor.

“I am particularly grateful to Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha, the member representing Ikwuano Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency of Abia State. He is my close friend”, Godwin said.

The beneficiaries unanimously and amidst ecstasy, highlighted the significance of this initiative as a historic milestone for Ikwuano, while emphasizing the importance of inclusivity.

Hear them : “Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD) are now being provided opportunities for leadership roles, characterized by consistency, equality, and compassion.”

The highlight of the event was a pledge by Nwaka to fully support one Mr. Godwin Alexander, to provide the latter’s logistical needs “when he decides to get married”, a gesture that garnered applause from the audience.
