We Now Witness PDP’s Prophesied Impunity, Fraud Since Gov. Umahi’s Emergence… Ebonyi APC Cries Out to PMB

The concerned Foundation Members and Stakeholders of the APC, (CFMSA) Ebonyi State chapter has cried out over an alleged hike in the rate of impunity and fraud that has overtaken the party following the defection of the Governor, Engr. David Umahi to the party.

The embittered group expressed utter worries over what it described as “the use of current political office holder’s Cum hand-picked purported intending APC members to run the affairs of the party in the state.

CFMSA stated this in her letter tagged: “The Stepping Down Of Pst. Eze Nwachukwu Eze In The State: The Use Of current Policy Office Holders Cum hand-picked, purported intending APC members to run the affairs of APC Registration/Revalidation Exercise Cum the Introduction of Indiscipline and impunity In Ebonyi APC: An Abnormality and an Aberration that must Be Corrected Before It is Too Late.”

Ths letter was jointly signed by Chief Silas Oketa, Hon. Linus Nweze and Chief Ogbu Joseph Nweke, the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary, (CFMSA) and directed to President Mohammadu Buhari, as the group called for the immediate intervention of the presidency to avert more impending dangers.

It recalled that their counterpart, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, had warned them against the imminent danger, hence influx of fraud and impunity that would engulf the party, as it begins to house Governor Umahi, which they regretted had become the order of the day.

The letter read in part:

“Recall that towards the build- up of 2019 General Elections, the then APC National Working Committee, (NWC), owing to lack of lack of internal democracy, lack of diligence and impunity in spite of all appeals did not do the needful which had led to the situation the party found itself in Bayelsa State, Zamfara State and Rivers State. “Recall that the PDP has few months ago prophesied and warned that impunity and fraud will soon be the lot and portion of the APC, upon the defection of Governor Umahi which we are now witnessing in APC Ebonyi state.”

“Recall also that Pst. Eze Nwachukwu Eze, Engr. Jeff Ogbu and 25 others were elected the APC State Working Committe in Ebonyi state, on 19/05/2018. It is also known that Pst. Eze Nwachukwu Eze was recently appointed as the Commissioner of the Inter Government Affairs and Deputy SSG in Ebonyi State and following the new position, Pst. Eze Nwachukwu Eze in a letter and press briefing, informed that he had stepped aside as the Chairman of APC in Ebonyi State. Upon which the Deputy chairman of the party in Ebonyi State, Engr. Jeff Ogbu became the chairman of APC in Ebonyi State in line with the provisions of the Constitution, in 2014.

“It is no longer news that fill the stepping down of Pst. Eze Nwachukwu Eze as the Chairman of APC in Ebonyi State, Engr. Jeff Ogbu automatically became the Chairman of the APC in Ebonyi State, as the law abhors vaccum.

“That in a bid to create confusion in Ebonyi APC and frustrate Engr. Jeff Ogbu from performing the functions of his office, notable elected serving Local Government Chairmen, serving Commissioners, Coordinators of various Department Centres, Special Assistants and Government Appointees, led by Stanley Okoro, a serving Commissioner in Ebonyi State, who had not formally registered their PDP MEMBERSHIP or registered as APC MEMBERS, were hand-picked, decorated, baptized and imposed on registered APC as OVERNIGHT MAKESHIFT Caretaker Committee of the APC in Ebonyi State, which generated much protests and objections by the registered/mainstream/old/foundation MEMBERS and stakeholders of the APC in Ebonyi State”, the release stated.
