It was a meritorious moment at Community Primary School, Umuajata, Olokoro, in Umuahia South LGA of Abia State, as the staff and pupils of the school, as well as some members of the community sang and danced in jubilation around the premises over the just completed one Block of 3-Classrooms.
The gigantic project which was attracted by the Member representing Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rep. Sam Ifeanyichukwu Onuigbo, aka. Odozi-Obodo, was embarked upon in the month of February, 2021 and completed within a fraction of five weeks by the construction company, MESSRS FRANCO-BEZI CONCEPT LTD.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Evang. Abraham Osondu (Snr.), the Liaison Officer to the Legislator congratulated the management of the school on the new edifice procured by Rep. Onuigbo, and urged them to take proper care of the facility, while advising the pupils to study intensively so as to make the society proud.
Meanwhile, he lauded the ebullient political leader for the various feats achieved since assumption of office particularly in recent them and implored him to keep the efforts afloat, while praying for God’s blessings, grace and protection to enable him accomplish more for his constituents.
He further used the medium to commend Hon. Abraham commended Mr. Ugochukwu Mba whose selfless nature, according to him is worthy of emulation.
Hear him: “I was involved in this project it started this. There’s a young man, Ugochukwu Mba, he should have been here today. We had to choose between this school and the one in his community.
“Ugochukwu pleaded with me to leave the one in his community and do this one. Because, he said he saw it and tears came off his eyes. Now, not many people will make such sacrifice. So, we must also thank him, he added.
Responding, Mrs. Ngozika Oriaku, the Deputy Head Mistress of the school and President-General, Women Wing of Umuajata Olokoro, expressed profound gratitude to Odozi-Obodo for coming to their aide, hence giving the school a new look and reason to smile again.
Famous Reporters who visited the school confirmed that once dilapidated school now wears a modern look decorated with fittings, such like ceiling fans, modern chairs, etc.
She called on other political office holders to follow the footprints of the high-spirited leader, while describing him as a leader with a heart for mankind.
She said: “On behalf of our women and children, I say a very big thank you, Hon. Sam Onuigbo for this wonderful building. May the good Lord continue to bless you.”
