The Pensioners who include: Mr. Ochiabuto Okerere; High Chief Chukwuemeka Adighibe, Mrs. Mercy Orisa, Mr. Obi Obiesie Ukaobasi among others released blessings to Amalambu who visited them at Umuagungolori old civic hall, Afugiri in Umuahia North L.G.A, of Abia State.

The pensioners decried that they had in the previous elections entrusted their fortune and future to sugar coated tongue politicians, who after winning at the polls, rewarded them with bunches of regret.

They insisted that Abia State and Umuahia North State Constituency needs credible candidates who will solely embrace integrity as a watchword.

According to them, 2023 is the right time to support a Godsent, who has a divine mandate to fight and defend their cause.

Amalambu lamented that the government is failing to ensure a decent life for older people, and pension is becoming increasingly inadequate; saying that the government should do enough to support an ageing population.

He reiterated his intentions as a duly elected lawmaker to meet with other legislators to debate key issues and negotiate better outcomes for the people of Umuahia North State Constituency.

He pointed out that a legislator must know the key issues that are important within the community they represent as well, adding, “This is important, as they must understand how a law or policy will impact the people and environment they represent”.

Amalambu who also pointed out that legislators help develop and introduce laws and statues at the level of government they represent, further disclosed his ambition to vigorously pursue a bill that will criminalize any leader that systematically seize the salaries and pensions of the citizens.

“I’ll sponsor bills that drastically reduce corruption in the state and promote prompt payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities. I’ll also vigorously press for the review, amendment and removal of all the laws that exert undue financial pressure on the masses.

“I’m not contesting for financial or material gain, but for God’s mandate for the good people of Ohuhu Constituency to be fulfilled.
