Ukwa West Apc Receives Decampees amidst total Celebrations
The Ukwa West Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, yesterday witnessed an influx of notable members of other political parties who willingly ditched their former political parties, into the Progressives Party, APC.
The defectors, as as gathered were, amidst resounding jubilations, warmly received with utmost delight by the party, during her general meeting, held at the LGA Secretariat, Obehie, Asa, in Ukwa West
Famousreporters.com gathered that the event which created a joyous atmosphere, sparked reactions from every nook and cranny of the area.
In his speech, the LGA Chairman of the party, Elder Uju Kenneth Nwarie expressed immense joy over the decision of the the individuals who defected into the party, saying: “It is exactly what we are preaching about, that it’s better we embrace the new members than to reject them.
He used the medium to enjoin the various Ward Chairmen to embrace the new members in their midst, as he urged them to be steadfast and participate fully in all the activities of the party in their various Wards across the Council.
Addressing the people, the Leader of the party in Ukwa, Chief Eruba Dimgba, appreciated Almighty God for His outstanding love, provision and protection upon all the members.
Eruba, who admonished members on the need to be faithful in their service to the party, assuring that “harvest time is near”, he added.
Continuing, he said: “I want to urge everyone of us to be sincere in their participation in all the engagements of the party and I promise to try as much as possible to support the party in my own capacity as the Abia nominee on the NDDC Board.
He further advised the new intakes to be loyal to the leadership of the party while calling on other people who might be willing to join the party, “that our hands are wide open to accept anyone who genuinely wants to be part of the progressives”, he said.
IIn addition, he charged the Party Ward Chairmen not to reject any body but embrace them, hence “the more the merrier, believing we will be victorious in all our court cases by God’s grace”, he envisaged.
In addition, the S.A to the NDDC Commissioner on Political Matters, Engr Uruakpa Sterling pleaded with the party to avoid any form of verbal war and ranchor among themselves, but let us “continue to live in love with one another.
“It’s only unity and love that can attract good things in the party, and with the Hon. Chief Eruba Dimgba as the leader of the LGA, APC will in no distance time, attain greater heights and will make an outstanding impact in the next election by the special grace of God, he concluded.
In their responses, one of the Leaders of the defectors, Elder Emmanuel C Nwankwo expressed his profound gratitude for the warm acceptance the party accorded them, promising that “I will wholeheartedly work with the party.
Similarly, Chief Onyebuchi Ogidi amidst elation, thanked the party for cheerfully accepting them into their fold, as he pledged his to unalloyed commitment to the party.
Mr. Chikezie Nwaobia has this to say: “I am happy to join the winning team and the government that is proactive at the National Level.”
Another decampee, Eze Esinwa happily thanked the party for bringing them into the family of the progressives “saying, “this is the first time I am joining the party, and that I am doing this based on the good jobs the party has done in Ukwa west through the leadership of Hon. Chief Eruba Dimgba.
Ogbonnanya Ikechukwu reiterated his total loyal to the party, while promising to bring more members to the party.
