The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command, has advised motorists plying the newly rehabilitated Third Mainland Bridge to drive cautiously and adhere strictly to recommended speed limit.

The Sector Commander Corps Commander Babatunde Farinloye gave the advice at the re-opening ceremony of the bridge organised by the Federal Ministry of Works on Thursday where he was represented by Deputy Corps Commander Lucas Oguntade (DCC Operations FRSC LAGOS).
 
Corps Commander Farinloye further noted as contained in a press statement e-signed by the Public Education Officer, Superintendent Route Commander, Bisi Sonusi, and made to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) that the maximum speed limit for vehicles on the bridge is 80km/hr. 
 
He admonished motorists to obey traffic regulations and rules in order to ensure their safety and that of other road users, stressing the need for motorists and the general public to use the FRSC Emergency toll free number 122 and National Emergency toll free number 121, in case of crash or any other incident that poses as threat to their safety and security.
 
Farinloye re-emphasized FRSC’s commitment to ensuring a safe motoring environment for all, and prompt service delivery in case of any emergency, warning that speeding, aggressive, and distractive driving, as well as driving under influence, remain critical issues that must be collectively addressed.

He thanked the Federal Government and the indefatigable Minister of Works Engr Dave Umahi for the rehabilitation work, which he said would guarantee quality travel time.
 
Meanwhile, there was a crash involving three vehicles inward Iyana Oworo axis of the bridge, shortly after the bridge was reopened.
