Tension on Ore-Benin Highway as Police Allegedly Shoot at Okeyson Bus; Mercy Johnson’s Husband Calms Chaos

“Tension erupted on the Ore-Benin Expressway as police allegedly shot at an Okeyson bus for failing to slow down. Prince Odi Okojie, Mercy Johnson’s husband, stepped in to calm the chaos and pay for damages.”

A tense standoff erupted on the Ore-Benin Expressway on Sunday after police officers allegedly opened fire on an Okeyson Transport vehicle that reportedly failed to slow down at a checkpoint.

The incident, which triggered a massive traffic gridlock, left travellers and motorists fuming along the busy route. In a viral video circulating on social media, several passengers were seen trekking on foot, expressing anger over the police’s actions.

One agitated voice in the background was heard saying, “The police officer would not even be able to pay for the car he shot at.”

Eyewitnesses claimed the confrontation intensified until Prince Odi Okojie, businessman and husband of Nollywood star Mercy Johnson, arrived at the scene. Okojie reportedly intervened to calm tensions and even paid for the damaged tyre of the Okeyson bus, which helped pacify the angry crowd and restore normal traffic flow.

As of press time, police authorities were yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
