“As legislators, we worked so hard to get the Electoral Act 2022, passed. Yet, fears remained about Judicial interpretation of this critical piece of legislation which I was privileged to work hard with some legislators to bring on board. Today, the Supreme Court affirmed that legislators can work in tandem with them for the betterment of Nigeria, and I am relieved.

“This victory was not about me. I did not also fight so hard to get it because of myself. Infact there is victor no vanquished. This victory and this fight were just to let everyone know that they can believe in our systems. I hope it motivates many young people out there.

“President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, has repeatedly said he intends to leave the legacy of a free and fair election. He showed his hand by signing the 2022 Electoral Act into law. A few days ago, he reaffirmed it during an interview. The truth is, for once, we are finally experiencing an electoral system which focuses on the people. I have become a beneficiary of this system and Nigeria must become a beneficiary of it, God willing and all of you working to make it make happen.
