How does one of America’s savviest business women get scammed? Real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, who hosts the popular show “Shark Tank,” confirmed today that she lost $388,000 in a phishing email scam. After receiving what appeared to be a legitimate email from Corcoran’s assistant approving an invoice for $388,711.11, her bookkeeper wired the money to a bank account in Asia. A typo in the faked emails tipped off her team to the scam, but it was discovered too late – and the money is gone.
