Rt. Hon Uko Nkole Condoles With Family Of Slain Youth……Visits Hospitalized Victims Of Police Incidence At Ebem Ohafia

The Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, yesterday, paid a condolence visit to the family of Mr. Friday Stanley Ota, who was shot dead by a Policeman at Ohafia yesterday.
Speaking with the family Nkole, filled with grief, urged the family of the deceased to bear the loss with fortitude and regretted that “the promising young man was cut down even before his life could take off.”
“I would work with the Abia State Government and security agencies to ensure justice for the deceased and I pray God to grant you the fortitude to bear the loss.”
”I visited the Mben Cottage Hospital, Ebem Ohafia where the four victims of the police incident were being treated for the following various injuries,
Master Miracle Olugu that had gun shot piercing through his buttocks; Mrs. Ijeoma Ezeikpe, 60 years old woman who got Suffocated by the Tear Gas Fumes and currently being resuscitated and in a very stable condition;
“Mr. Okoro Dike, 30 years old man who had a Severe Traumatic Head Injury from a Physical assault and; Mrs. Akanele Amogu, 84 years old woman who is under resuscitation as she was brought in unconscious as she was said to have collapsed on account of Shock from the random Gun-shot blast.”
Hon. Nkole donated some  funds for their upkeep assured the people that would intimate the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu on the outcome especially the settlement of the hospital bills, adding “I wished you acspeedy recovery.”
In a related development, the Lawmaker, in company of the14  Brigade Commander, Brigadier General SB Kumapayi and the Area Commander, ACP Toyin Sulyman visited the spot as he observed the various facilities damaged by the aggrieved youths, ranging from
Ohafia Area command office, Ohafia Divisional Police Barracks, High Court and Magistrate Court complexes and the residence of the DPO Ohafia.

“I want you to maintain the highest level of civil relations in line with best global practices  with the populace in the spirit of peaceful coexistence and on  the need  to foster a lasting peace”, he said.
Meanwhile, Nkole, who fought tooth and nail to ensure the restoration of mormalcy in the troubled community, enjoined the urge the latter to sustain the peace and abide by the laws without fear of intimidation, whatsoever.aaa
Contributing, the Area Commander ACP Toyin Sulyman reported that all the three errant officers had been arrested and handed over to the State police command Headquarters, in Umuahia successfully.
Our Correspondent reports that the Lawmaker was accompanied on the visit by the Transition Committee Chairman of Ohafia LGA,  Prince Fred Eke Idika, Mr Daniel Ogbuagu, Deputy Transition Chairman, Arochukwu LGA, Chief Kingsley Eke Imaga, immediate Past Abia State Commissioner for Transport and President General Elu Ohafia Development Town Union respectively.
Famous Reporters gathered that the Federal Lawmaker upon getting wind of the ugly incident, without hesitation, made for the scene of the incident to pacify the rampaging youths and, at the same time, assess the levels of damages done to both Government and private property arising from  protests over the unfortunate killing and maiming by the errant police officers.
