In yet another impactful constituency engagement, Hon. Ginger Obinna Onwusibe, the distinguished member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, convened his monthly briefing at the country home of Hon. Dannie “Manja” Ubani (Ord. Ezemuo) in Mbutu-Ukwu Ward 3, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.
The event, which focused on Mbutu-Ukwu Ward 3, saw a gathering of political stakeholders, grassroots mobilizers, and pro-Labour Party groups, underscoring the legislator’s consistent engagement with his constituents.
In his opening remarks, Hon. Ubani extolled the leadership of Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, acknowledging his legislative contributions towards the progress of the constituency. He also hailed the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, for his transformational leadership, stating that Abia has become a clean and progressive state under his watch.
While appreciating the government’s developmental strides, Ubani offered prayers for continued guidance and wisdom for both leaders, emphasizing their roles in driving Abia forward.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe underscored the importance of his monthly ward briefings, explaining that he ensures equitable representation by visiting wards in both Isiala Ngwa North and South.
He stressed that local government structures play a crucial role in determining the political trajectory of any leader, noting that loyalty and service to the grassroots remain his priority.
According to him, those who fail to serve the people at the grassroots level often find themselves politically irrelevant.
Hon. Onwusibe also congratulated newly elected local government chairmen and councillors, urging them to remain dedicated to the people who entrusted them with leadership. He lamented the plight of citizens who tirelessly support politicians but are left struggling after elections, vowing to change the narrative by prioritizing the welfare of his constituents.
The lawmaker highlighted various infrastructural projects currently undertaken in Isiala Ngwa South to enhance the quality of life for residents. These include:
- Aga Primary School: Construction of a six-classroom block (completed)
- Umuogioma Primary School, Mbutu-Ukwu: Renovation of three classroom blocks (ongoing)

- Obuba Mini Stadium: Ongoing project including fencing
- Okporo-Ahaba Primary School: Renovation of three classroom blocks
- Amairi Ovorgi Health Centre: Rehabilitation and upgrade

Hon. Onwusibe charged party faithful to remain steadfast and resist division, emphasizing that loyalty should be rewarded. He urged members of the Ginger Solidarity Front and Abia Arise to stand firm in defending their party members from political attacks, likening political struggles to biblical events where Moses defended an Israelite against an Egyptian.

He assured party faithful that his administration would continue to recognize and compensate the “booth armies” who worked tirelessly to ensure Labour Party’s victory during the elections.
Onwusibe highlighted his continuous efforts in providing palliatives, including fertilizers, to farmers in the constituency. He assured residents that as the farming season approaches, more fertilizers and other support would be distributed to enhance agricultural productivity.
He also hinted at a forthcoming visit by Governor Alex Otti to Isiala Ngwa North and South in May, a visit that is expected to further strengthen government presence and developmental projects in the constituency.
The Labour Party Chairman for Isiala Ngwa South, Hon. Smart Ogbonna, lauded Hon. Onwusibe’s grassroots engagement strategy and called for an extension of such engagements beyond the ward level to the local government level. He emphasized that a more structured grassroots approach would enhance party cohesion and strengthen governance at the community level.
The meeting also witnessed the formal admission of over 15 new members into the Board of Trustees, further strengthening the leadership structure of the constituency.
Among the pro-Governor Otti and pro-Onwusibe groups present at the event were:
