There is a great jubilation among Imolites and other well-meaning Nigerians as the Governor of Ekiti state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, today, commissioned a brand new dualized Chukwuma Nwoha Road popular Chukwuma Nwoha Road, a major road which has just gone through a rehabilitation process by the present administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma.
It would be recalled that the rehabilitated road which was named after one of the young football stars from Imo State, haven made Nigeria proud by winning the under 17 world cup in China in 1985, has obviously been subjected to flood and other other ecological factors over the years.
The commissioning ceremony which attracted dignitaries from all walks of life was performed by the Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum, Dr. Fayemi Kayode the executive Governor of Ekiti state.
Dr. Fayemi commended the efforts of the Uzodinma led administration which according to him has achievement immensely within its one-year in office and urged Imolites to continually stand in solidarity with the administration, to enable him achieve more feats.
He described the just rehabilitated road which linked up the Owerri Municipal to other Local Governments and States of the South East as a very important road.
Dr. Fayemi further described Governor Uzodinma as man of his words, while expressing great joy over his involvement in the present administration.
“I want to congratulate the Executive Governors of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodinma for this great feat. Honestly, I must say that Governor Uzodinma is a man of his words and I am happy to be part of this rehabilitation agenda of the present administration.
According to the Governor of Ekiti State, “what Governor Uzodimma is doing in terms of infrastructure in Imo is in sync with the reason the people trusted him with their mandate and Governor Uzodimma has shown huge and sincere commitment to the people of Imo State”, he said.
Account to Fayemi, “roads are essential arteries for the developer of any society and I am delivering to see you achieve this much despite the poor availability of funds. And I am certain that if you are able to achieve this in a short time, you will do more for the people. This is indeed a demonstration of true audacity of hope.
He used the medium to appealed to Imolites especially the youths, through the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Prof. Obiozor to work assiduously towards ensuring the safety and security of lives, public’s and private property.

Fayemi said: “Although in a democratic government, the people have the right to show their grievances when things are not going well but they should not join hands with detractors to pull down good intentions of their leaders like the Governor of Imo State”, he added.
Governor Uzodinma, while delivering his speech earlier, expressed great joy over the outstanding achievement of his administration, hence the rehabilitation of the famous road, which had apparently been in deplorable state over the years.
Senator Uzodinma, in his delightful mood stressed that the same road which had been consigned to oblivion by past administrations had finally worn a fresh look, a condition which he noted would bring about a surge of relief by Imolites, whom he lamented had suffered beyond words, consequent on the poor state of the road.

Hear him: “Today, were practically commissioning a brand new dualized Chukwuma Nwoha road which has been surrendered to flood and other ecological processes before we came on board. We all know how residents had deserted this road before we embarked on this holistic rehabilitation and recovery; both landlords and tenants in their days of woes yet their cries didn’t enter the ears of previous administrations.
“This particular commissioning is heartwarming because this road is named in the honour of Chukwuma Nwoha who as a teenager was among the youngsters who made the nation proud by winning the under- seventeen world cup in China in 1985”, he said, as he used the medium to charge the youths of Imo and Nigeria in general to emulate the attribute of Chukwuma Nwoha so as to have their names written in gold.
Moreso, Governor Uzodimma used the opportunity to appeal to Nigerian youths to give peace a chance “by refraining from been willing tools in the hands of enemies of the States in particular and the Country large,” noting that “there can be no progress without peace.”
