The member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia state, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole has urged the Muslim community in the state to see the period of Eid-al Fitr as a moment of sober reflection and pray for the unity, peace and progress of the Nigeria nation.
Rt. Hon. Nkole gave this charge when the Muslim Community, led by the Chief Imam of Abia, Sheikh Ali Ukiwo paid him a courtesy call at his Ozu Abam country home today, Friday May, stressing that there is urgent need to pray for God’s divine intervention especially in the period of COVID-19 pandemic.
Hon. Nkole who felicitated with all Muslim faithful in Abia for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast to mark the Eid-al Fitr celebration coming up next week prayed to Almighty Allah to bring more joy, peace and prosperity on the blessed occasion of Eid-al Fitr celebration.
“I wish you and all other Muslim faithful a very happy celebration and I want to thank you for this courtesy visit.”
The Federal Lawmaker used the medium to felicitate with them on the auspicious moment of completion of Ramadan fast to mark the Eid-al Fitr celebration.
“I, therefore urged the Muslim community to use this period of fasting as a moment of sober reflection and pray for the unity, peace, progress and God’s divine intervention especially this period of covid-19 pandemic which is ravaging the world.”
Earlier in his speech, the Abia Chief Imam applauded the federal lawmaker for his open door policy, as well as the existing cordial relationship with the people, while describing him as a grassroots political leader.
Further, Sheikh Ali outlined the various captivating qualities of Hon. Nkole, ranging from humility, tolerance, sincerity and uprightness, pointing out that the aforementioned traits have distinguished him and endeared many as a political office holder,
