Police Busts Suspect In Brutal Murder Of Ikorodu Ex-girlfriend

The Lagos Police Command has successfully arrested Fatai Mogaji Abdusalam over the alleged murder of his ex-girlfriend, Opeyemi in Lagos.

In a major breakthrough, the Lagos State Police Command arrested Fatai Abdulsalam, the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of Opeyemi, a young woman who was brutally stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend on July 10, 2024.

Mogaji who was accused of stabbing Opeyemi 22 times, was caught at a bar in Ikorodu and is currently cooling off at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Panti, Yaba.

According to sources, Abdulsalam was apprehended at F1 Bar in Ikorodu by a team of police officers and well-wishers who had been tracking him for weeks.

Mogaji had been on the run since allegedly stabbing Opeyemi 22 times at a club in Ikorodu on July 10, 2024. Opeyemi’s sister confirmed the tragic incident, recounting how the two had reunited and spent time together before the fatal altercation at around 5 a.m.

The success was on August 5, as he was promptly handed over to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Panti, Yaba.

Opeyemi’s sister who could not hide her gratitude unhesitantly made for her social media, stating: “My sister’s killer, Fatai Mogaji Abdulsalam, was caught last night at F1 Bar Ikorodu by well-wishers and Ope’s friends. He has been moved to Panti Police Station.”

The victim’s sister, who had been seeking justice for her sister’s murder, expressed relief and gratitude to the police and everyone who helped in apprehending the suspect.

“We are grateful that justice is finally being served,” she said. “We hope that the suspect will face the full weight of the law for his heinous crime.”

The police have confirmed that Abdulsalam is currently being held at the Panti Police Station and that investigations are ongoing.
