Pay close attention to your children’s lifestyle, save them from crimes – Umahi’s wife
Nnachi, E.U, Abakaliki
Wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs Rachel Umahi, on Wednesday, cautioned mothers against negligence and paying little attention to the lifestyle of their children, especially during the adolescent age.
Mrs Umahi said when children are properly trained, they will not indulge in crime.
She spoke in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital, during a one-day Security Summit she organised for women in the state.
She said, “The work you are doing in your family can only be paid by God, not your husband or whosoever.
“We should know that charity begins at home and manifest in public. When our children are well trained, the society will not only benefit positively from such a child but the world at large would feel his impact.
“The Insecurity we are seeing today would be a thing of past if mothers should go back home and do our work which God has created us specifically to do.
“I encourage women to be patient in all they do and they will see God’s blessings coming upon you.”
One of the Guest Speakers at the event, a Nollywood actress, Mrs. Ebele Okaro, decried the level of decay in some families today and expressed regret that most women indirectly encouraged their children even when they go astray.
