Panic in Kwara as Over 40 Terrorists on Motorcycles Reportedly Advance Toward Lile Community

“Residents of Lile in Patigi LGA, Kwara State, were thrown into panic after eyewitnesses reported seeing more than 40 motorcycles carrying armed terrorists tranversin toward the community. Security agencies have yet to issue a statement.”

Residents of Lile community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State were thrown into panic on Tuesday evening following reports that scores of armed terrorists were advancing toward the area on dozens of motorcycles.

According to local sources who spoke with newsmen, the suspected bandits were spotted riding in a convoy of more than 40 motorcycles, with each bike carrying two to three heavily armed men.

A community resident who confirmed the alarm said the information originated from a neighbouring village that witnessed the movement firsthand.

“We just received a call from our neighbouring village informing us that the notorious bandits were sighted moving in large numbers — over 40 motorcycles, carrying two to three persons each,” the source said.

The armed group reportedly passed through the nearby settlement without any confrontation and was said to be heading directly toward Lile community. Their current whereabouts remain unknown as of the time of filing this report.

“They passed through the neighbouring village and headed directly towards Lile community. Their current location is unknown at this moment,” the resident added.

The development has heightened fear among locals, who are urgently calling on security agencies for immediate intervention.

“We urgently request immediate security intervention in our community,” another resident pleaded.

As of press time, neither the Kwara State Police Command nor local security outfits had issued an official statement regarding the reported movement.

The tension in Lile comes barely 24 hours after terror swept through Isapa community in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State. On Monday evening, terrorists invaded the town, abducting a pregnant woman, 10 children, two nursing mothers, and several others.

Isapa is located a short distance from Eruku — another community recently hit by a similar abduction.

The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the Isapa attack on Tuesday, stating that 10 people were kidnapped. However, a community leader who witnessed the incident insisted that 11 people were abducted, including seven members of the same family.

Those kidnapped include Talatu Kabiru, Magaji, Kande, Hadiza, Mariam, Saima, Habibat (a housewife), Fatima Yusufu (a housewife), Sarah Sunday (a pregnant woman), Lami Fidelis (a nursing mother), and Haja Na Allah.

Eyewitnesses explained that the gunmen moved through parts of the community, firing sporadically and leaving multiple bullet holes in walls and doors. Expended AK-47 shells were recovered across the town after the attackers fled.
