OUK Foundation Takes Responsibility For Master Peniel Patrick’s Eye Surgery

The Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, in it’s recent council have secured the surgical operation for Master Peniel Patrick, who was born in 2022.
Peniel Patrick, a native of Egede, in Oju local government area of Benue State, was a premature birth. He had a defect with his eyes due to the excessive exposure to Oxygen in the incubator.
As gathered from the parent of the baby boy, who narrated the story of Peniel; “My son was born pre mature and due to the nature of his birth, he was placed in an incubator to keep him alive,” She said.
Mrs Aogo, who further said that the boy is unable to use his two eyes due to the entrapment of the incubator, said she noticed some white substances, covering the pupils of the little boy, of which resulted to the lost of vision for Master Peniel; “I observed some white things covering the eyes of my son and found out that those things are not allowing him to see. I met series of doctors who told me that my son would be needing eye surgery if we want him to see and that it must be done now that the boy is still infant”
“I tried to raise the money needed for the eye surgery but it’s not easy as it is a major operation that involved lots of money in millions of Naira. Where can I get such money?” She lamented.
The mother of the young boy also said she was directed to several places to seek help for her little boy, but all her efforts were in vain until she got help from the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation.
“I was worried that my son may not be able to use his eyes again because the money for the surgery is on the high side. I tried so many places for help but help seem far from reach. I was almost giving up, not until I was directed to try this Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation.
“As God may have it, help came as my request is granted by the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation. They have taken the responsibility and have secured the surgical section for my son. The foundation paid fully the cost of the eye surgery for my son and by God’s grace am hopeful that after the surgery, my son may be able to see with his eyes.
“I can not thank the management of the Orji Uzor Kalu foundation enough, especially, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, who has made this possible, who is touching people’s lives with his foundation. My joy will be complete at the end of this operation, to see my son use his eyes would be my greatest joy .” She said.
It was learnt that the eye surgery is scheduled for the last week of November, 2023 at the Thelish Eye Centre Plot 2411, Cadastral Zone B01, Phase 2, Garki, Abuja.
Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation is a none governmental organization that have continuously touched the lives of the helpless in the society and the case of young master Peniel Patrick is the recent of the numerous cases, handled by the Foundation.
