OUK Distributes Desks To Alayi Central School

In line with his vision of promoting infrastructure development in communities as well as his massive investment in the education sector, the senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu, on Friday, August 11, handed over brand new desks to Alayi Central School in Bende Local Government Area.

Kalu, who is the senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, during the distribution said the project was part of his efforts to create a conducive atmosphere for learning and teaching across the Senatorial District, expressing belief that the renovated classroom blocks, desks, solar street lights, educational materials he distributed and other projects attracted by him to the Senatorial District would be greatly valued and urged members of the communities to protect the facilities against vandalism.

Represented by Mr. Ndukwe Okereke and Chief Christopher Okoronkwo, Senator Kalu reaffirmed his decision to invest into the education sector, saying: ” Education remains the bedrock of any development.”

Receiving the desks on behalf of the school, the school headmistress, Mrs. Comfort Nmaju appreciated Senator Kalu for his developmental strides in the education sector. She informed the gathering that outside the desks, “Senator Orji Kalu had renovated blocks of classrooms in the school.”
