OTTI’s TRIBUNAL VICTORY: New Era Boss, Ossy Nwaka Congratulates Abia Governor
… Says judiciary is the hope of common man
Following the verdict as declared by the Tribunal today which upheld the victory of Dr. Alex Otti, as the authentic winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election, the Founder and President of New Era Foundation, (NEF), Evang. Comrd. Osinachi Nwaka has poured the Governor of Abia State on his resounding victory.
He described the court’s verdict as a replication of the heartbeats of the people of Abia State.
This is even as the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, today, Friday, dismissed all petitions by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Okey Ahiwe, and his party against the victory of Gov. Alex Otti of the Labour Party.
The judge who dismissed all three grounds of the petitions by the Petitioners insisted that that same lacked merit, hence the pronouncement of Otti as the duly elected Governor.
Meanwhile, the grounds of petition as formulated by the Petitioners included: “that the Respondent was not qualified to run, did not win majority lawful votes, and that there were irregularities at the poll.
Furthermore, the Tribunal adjourned for 10 minutes to continue with the petition by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Ikechi Emenike against Gov. Otti.
Reacting to the judgement in favour of Labour Party in the State, in a statement, signed by the Director of Media and Publicity of NEF, Dr. Okezie Chukwuemeka, and issued to famousreporters.com, Nwaka, who is a stakeholder of the party and an ardent supporter of Otti expressed immense joy over the victory, describing it as well deserved.
Nwaka, who reiterated his unalloyed commitment in collaboration with the foundation, to ensure the success of the Governor and his administration, urged the latter to discard the activities of detractors but remain unswerving in his quest to rehabilitate the State and its environs.
Ossy Nwaka, while describing the Judiciary as the last hope of the common man, commended the Judges for working dutifully and relentlessly towards ensuring that the truth was not upturned.
He, therefore, used the medium to appeal to all aggrieved Abians with focus on the opponents, to shield their swords, in order to enable the Governor bring to fore, all of his his campaign promises and a lot more.
“I, therefore, plead with the oppositions parties and all aggrieved members of the State resident here and in diaspora, to accept the judgement as delivered by the incorruptible Judges and work in synergy with the government of Dr. Alex Otti.
The statement read in part:
“Congratulations to you, our dear Governor!
“Today, again, just like on the fateful day of your announcement as the authentic winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election, the joy of Abians home and abroad knows no bounds. This is because the people have chosen you and it is an indisputable fact.
“Evidently, this is another remarkable time, during which the Judiciary has proven herself as the last hope of the common man and, I wish I express my gratitude to this body and implore her to keep the fire aglow.
“I have no doubt, whatsoever, that God has prepared Dr. Otti to be used as a vessel to restore the long lost years of the State and lighten up the hope of the masses.
“Once again, congratulations, my indefatigable Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR”, he said.
