Obi abandons Labour Party, Joins APC
Obi Dumps Labour Party for APC

Hon. Paschal Obi, who formerly represented Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency, in the Federal House of Representatives has formally ditched the Labour Party (LP) to join the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

While delivering his speech, Obi explained that his decision to become a part of the ruling party was driven by what he described as the “massive infrastructural development efforts” of Governor Hope Uzodinma, of Imo State.

He also commended the state APC leadership under Ebere for its exemplary leadership, which, according to him, contributed to the party’s impressive performance at the grassroots during the last local government elections.

The former lawmaker assured the party’s executive members of his unwavering support and loyalty to the APC.

Responding, the APC State Chairman, Macdonald Ebere, expressed profound gratitude to the former Legislator for choosing to return to the party, and action which he described as a significant boost to the party’s strength in the state.

The grand reception was attended by several political stakeholders from Ideato South, to reaffirm their solidarity to Obi.

Meanwhile, Obi was heartily received by the state’s APC executive council, led by Macdonald Ebere. This was even as he had earlier, formalised his membership at both the ward and local government levels.
