Brady joins in with draft-a-thon

Deion Sanders is actually taking part in the draft-a-thon fundraiser tonight, along with some other big names.

Actor Kevin Hart has been involved through the night and he’s also been joined by former New York Giant Michael Straham, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and arguably the ‘GOAT’, Tom Brady.

Falcons choose AJ Terrell

Dan Quinn was a coach under pressure during an indifferent season for Atlanta. He’ll be hoping cornerback AJ Terrell from Clemson is a boom and not a bust for the Falcons.

Jerry Jeudy on his way to Denver

This is widely regarded as one of the most talented groups of wide receivers available on draft day and the Broncos have taken one of those men – Jerry Jeudy from the University of Alabama. Broncos GM and legendary quarterback John Elway is looking pretty chuffed with that bit of business.

49ers select Kinlaw

San Francisco’s run to this year’s Super Bowl was built on solid defence – and it looks like they’re sticking with that philosophy by taking highly-rated defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw from South Carolina.

BreakingBucs draft Wirfs

No, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have gone the other way. They’ve bolstered their offensive line, selecting Tristan Wirfs, a tackle from Iowa, to give Tom Brady some more protection.

Gronkowski comes out of retirement

ICYMI… Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski this week came out of retirement to reunite with superstar quarterback Tom Brady at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gronkowski, 30, retired from the NFL in March 2019 – weeks after helping the Patriots to victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl 53.

Gronkowski had a year remaining on his contract when he retired so the Pats still held his rights, which they have now traded to Tampa Bay for a fourth-round draft pick.

The Patriots will also give up a seventh-round pick as part of the deal.

Tampa Bay trade with the 49ers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers must be keen on one of them. Another weapon for new quarterback Tom Brady.

They’ve traded with the San Francisco 49ers to take that 13th pick.

Who’s next?

Expect two more wide receivers to follow in quick succession now, CeeDee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy.

BreakingRaiders draft Ruggs

Henry Ruggs III is the first wide receiver off the board as the former Alabama man is selected by the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Las Vegas Raiders… that will take some getting used to.

There were no doubts over Randy Moss’ talent in 1998 but there were concerns over his off-field issues.

The Dallas Cowboys were particularly interested in the wide receiver and had a chance to take him at number eight. They passed up on it though, and that made other teams pay heed to red flags.

Moss eventually fell to 21 before the Minnesota Vikings felt he was worth the risk and it paid off handsomely. The Vikings played Dallas in the Thanksgiving game that year, with Moss going into the Cowboys’ house and scoring three touchdowns.

He continued to haunt them throughout his career and he’s now in the Hall of Fame as well as sitting fourth on the all-time list for receiving yards. After winning three Super Bowls in 90s, Dallas didn’t win another play-off game for 12 years.

Incidentally, Randy’s son Thaddeus Moss, a tight end from LSU, is up for grabs in this year’s draft.

BreakingJets select Becton

It’s all going swimmingly, with few shocks. Many tipped the New York Jets to draft Mekhi Becton and they’ve plumped for the offensive tackle from Louisville.

‘I’m excited to see what Young does’

Jason Bell

Former NFL cornerback

Everybody gets caught up with quarterbacks because we know the value of the position but Chase Young, hands down, is the best player in this draft. Osi knows that position so he must be right!

And it’s the most important position besides quarterback because it’s the first person that gets there to take the quarterback down. I’m excited to see what he does this year and in the years to come.

BreakingBrowns draft Wills

That’ll do nicely for the Cleveland Browns. They do indeed go for Jedrick Wills, the offensive tackle out of Alabama, with the 10th pick of the 2020 draft.

BreakingJaguars select Henderson

No, it’s not Javon Kinlaw for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it aids another of their defensive needs.

They go for former Florida cornerback CJ Henderson.

Jaguars on the clock

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a lot of holes to fill on defence, is it time for defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw?
