Neither Ikwuano Nor Labour Party in Crisis

By Concerned Ikwuano Citizen

My attention has been drawn to a rather childish, badly scripted, and blatantly infantile aberration targeted at tarnishing the image of the hardworking mayor of Ikwuano Umuahia Local Government, Hon. Ossy Nwaka, and the Labour Party family as a whole.

Ordinarily, I would have looked the other way because I do not hold brief for the mayor, nor am I his image maker in any capacity. However, it is an affront to our collective sensibility and moral obligation that a group of frustrated individuals will be allowed to have a field day spreading countless lies to score cheap political goals while we look away. Evil only triumphs where men of good will do nothing.

It is on this pedestal that I address a few issues raised by that unprofessional publication. Foremost, let me point out that the said online publication was recently launched for the singular purpose of attacking the Mayor of Ikwuano. I will not give them the courtesy of mention, as they are not worth the free publication. Rather, I want to emphasize that the mayor has done exceptionally well, prompting some scared politicians and their foot soldiers within the LGA to take desperate measures to dedicate a website to attacking him.

The Ikwuano Labour Party, and Abia State, are not in crisis, as naysayers may wish to construct in the figment of their imagination and believe for self-edification. The sudden paradigm shift in the political trajectory of Abia State has taken away the means of sustenance from many government parasites, and they are not ready for it. As a result, they have not stopped fighting.

Their attack on Mayor Ossy is not in the genuine interest of anyone but in their futile effort to cling back to our collective resources like leeches and resume exploiting our dear state. We should not be deceived by their antics.

Let me also make it abundantly clear that the New Era Foundation has been a source of comfort to those in need since its founding. The genuine people of our local government area are a testament to the security it has brought them. It is, therefore, strange when you begin to hear some narratives that sound like fairy tales.

Of course, that’s their stock in trade; they can weave their lies so craftily that any fragile-minded person will easily get deceived by untrue stories or even be hoodwinked into thinking that reality is not real.

Without much ado, I invite reasonable minds to investigate the New Era Foundation so that you will not see my personal opinion as biased. I can only say that NEF is one of the best things that has happened to the Ikwuano people in a long time, and the good news came with the entrance of Mayor Ossy Nwaka.

We must not allow enemies of the people to cut it short because they do not speak for the people; they only lie for their selfish interests.

Another issue the bad publication raised was accusing the mayor of not listening to advice. Since you are an invisible person, how did you know everything that happened at every point in time, as if you are omnipresent, yet you do not have a name or identity?

If you are fighting a genuine cause or wish to challenge the Mayor’s popularity, why must you hide behind a pseudo-identity when you should have the courage to show your face?

If the naysayers cannot answer these questions, it is best that they crawl back into their holes and wait for things to turn back, which is when they feed on the pain of the people. But now that Abia has heaved a sigh of relief, who are these persona non-grata?
