Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is a humongous personality anyone can easily fall in love with, if on a one-on-one bases or within public interfaces. His undying commitments and trustworthiness have been evident throughout his public engagements, from his early days as an activist to his successful career in business and active politics.
During his youth, as a Nigerian student within the jurisdiction of Aluta-spirit, he demonstrated his trustworthiness as an activist at the University of Maiduguri when he participated in the ‘Ali Must Go’ protest against the Minister of Education. Despite being offered a return to the university, he refused, insisting that all the suspended students should be called back, not just him. This selfless sacrifice showcased his commitment to the welfare of others and the principles he believed in.

Initiatives like free medical care, free education, agricultural programs, the roads he Constructed within the 17 local government of the state, so much to mention, Dr Orji Kalu boasted the revenue of Abia State as he succeeded in the inclusion of Abia state into the NDDC states to benefit from the sharing of the 13 percent derivation funds, almost at his exit as the governor of Abia State, all of these, demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of those he was elected to serve.
During his tenure as governor, he actively engaged in addressing religious and ethnic conflicts, particularly the Christian/Muslim confrontations in the north. By assisting returnees and mediating with Northern leaders, he helped bring about peace and fostered coexistence among Nigerians.
Furthermore, Senator Orji Kalu’s dedication to prompt payment of workers’ salaries during his time as governor and as one of Nigeria employer of Labor, have further solidified the trust he enjoys within his political territory. His dutiful representation and transparency in governance earned him the respect and trust of the people he served.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s track record of trustworthiness, commitment, and selflessness in both business and politics has been instrumental in his successes and the confidence placed in him by the people he serves. Presently as a Senator representing Abia North District, the stories of the former governor of Abia state, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, seem to be that of “a wine that tastes better as it advances”. His achievements as 9th Senator into this 10th Senate, has impressed a notch on every Abia North citizens and beyond. He is a yardstick of measurement to other Senators from other Senatorial District of Abia State.
Quality road projects to his name in the rural areas into the farms that will compliment the “State of Emergency order on Agriculture”, of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Most farmers are confident that their produce can be accessed, through the roads constructed by Orji Uzor Kalu.
Trust is not sold, it’s earned by what we do, especially how we respond to the promises we make in public spaces. In all sincerity, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is one of Nigeria politicians that have always meet his words with actions. He is energetic and can be trusted with public responsibilities.
