MERGED PHOTOS: I Never Authorised Production, Circulation Of My Merged Pictures With Opposition Parties…Rep. Onuigbo Raises Alarm

Rep. Sam Onuigbo, the APC Abia Senatorial Candidate has raised alarm over the merging of his photo with those of other party members, as the February 25 general election draws closer.

Reacting to the campaign posters in a statement made available to newsmen, the APC candidate who is also the incumbent member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, stated emphatically that the merged photos did not emanate from his camp.

“Meanwhile, famousreporters.com gathered from reliable sources that some parts of the metropolis of Umuahia, the State’s capital have posters containing images of three candidates of different political parties in the forthcoming February 25 election, littered with, an act which the anonymous source termed deceptive.

To this effect, Odozi-Obodo has come out to inform the general public be vigilant and guard against the ploy, stressing that neither he nor his supporters perpetrated the act, as the former has urged his teaming supporters to be meticulous, so as not to fall for the perceived prank.

Amidst worries, Onuigbo wrote:

“Re: Posters With My Image and the Image of the candidates of Other Parties

“My attention has been drawn to the fact that there are a number of posters in circulation with my image and their text and the images of the candidates of other political parties. I will want to state clearly that I did not authorise the production, and circulation of such posters. Neither did those posters emanate from my campaign team.

“Nigeria practises a democracy and at different political cycles, electorates oftentimes decide their voting patterns. It is not within my powers or in fact the powers of anyone to force people to show their support however they wish, as long as such support does not break the law. Which is why even though the said posters do not have my support, I also cannot forcefully take them down.

“I and my campaign team will continue to be faithful party men and will never engage in anti-party activities.

“May God guide us all.
