Mbale Horror: Drunk Father Detained After Returning Home Without Missing 9-Week-Old Baby

The child’s father, who allegedly left home intoxicated with the infant, has returned alone, unable to explain her whereabouts, triggering fear, outrage, and an urgent police investigation.”

A mother in Mbale is grappling with intense emotional distress after her husband allegedly disappeared with their infant daughter and returned days later without the child.

According to reports, the man left their residence on April 19 with their nine-week-old baby, identified as “Baby Ariana Sky Mwarikizi.” Witnesses allege he was heavily intoxicated at the time. His prolonged absence raised alarm within the family, as days passed without any communication or indication of the child’s whereabouts.

After four days, the father reportedly returned home alone. Family members say he could not provide a clear or consistent explanation regarding the baby’s disappearance, deepening concerns and sparking outrage within the community.

Police documentation, recorded as “Occurrence Book (OB) No: 11/20/04/2026,” confirms that the infant has been officially declared missing since April 19. Authorities have since taken the father into custody at Mbale Police Station as investigations intensify.

The missing infant is described by relatives as calm and playful, often seen sucking her thumb for comfort. She was last spotted in Mbale town, and her sudden disappearance has left her mother devastated and in a state of profound anxiety.

Search operations are ongoing, with neighbours and local residents actively combing surrounding areas and circulating information in a collective effort to locate the child.

Police authorities have appealed to the public, urging anyone with credible information to report immediately to the nearest station. As the search continues, fears for the baby’s safety grow, while her family clings to hope for her safe return.
