Netmarble — developer of the action RPG/dungeon crawler Marvel Future Fight — has announced a brand-new open-world RPG starring the many characters of the Marvel universe: Marvel Future Revolution.
A trailer for Future Revolution made using in-engine footage was shared to Marvel’s official YouTube channel. “We’ve got a plan,” the video’s description reads. “Fight side by side as the hero you are meant to be. The Revolution starts here.” The trailer itself features several Marvel superheroes (which obviously take some inspiration from their Marvel Cinematic Universe counterparts as far as their designs are concerned), such as Captain America, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange.
Speaking of Strange, MCU-esque portals are seen appearing around a New York City overcome by chaos, with the aforementioned heroes receiving some backup from alternate versions of themselves. The trailer concludes with a reference to Netmarble’s previous Marvel mobile title: “This is not just a fight; this is a revolution.”
The open-world RPG allows players to take control of the heroes featured in the trailer in the aftermath of an event known as the “Convergence,” which writer Marc Sumerak describes as “a multi-universal catastrophe where Earths are about to collide with each other.” Moreover, Netmarble has launched an official website for the Marvel Future Revolution, giving users the option to sign up for a newsletter — which will presumably reveal more details down the road.
