As the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections slated for March 18 draws nearer, residents of Aba, the commercial bane of Abia State, have sworn never to cast their in favour of the ruling party in the State, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
The aggrieved Aba residents who decried the deplorable condition of the roads in the area, lamented that the PDP led government of Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu had done more harm to them than good since assumption of office, in the year, 2015.
This is even as the people had yesterday, Wednesday, March 14, swam in somewhat an ocean-like flood on Ngwa Road, one of the major roads in popular business zone.
A viral video shows the people particularly the youths who wailed that their roads could not be rehabilitated even though the incumbent Governor is from the Ngwa extraction, as they argued why they would want to be compelled to return the same party to power, in the March 18 election.
The youths insisted that they would not give their votes to a party that had sunk them into intense poverty over the years m
In their aggrieved state, one of the youths said: “This is Ngwa Road- Aba. Oke ezuola Abia. This flood was caused by rainfall that did not for up to 30minutes.
Mocking the ruling party in the State, a voice speaking at the background of the video said: Yet they say Abia shall be ruled by an Ngwa man. Look at how Aba is. This is Ngwa Road On Saturday, Obident is coming.”
Another female voice cursed the ruling party, saying, “ndi- ara- mad people.
Another voice, male teasingly said: “Okey is okay”, a popular slogan of the party through which they try to convince the electorates that their candidate, Okey Ahaiwe is fit for the Governorship position.
“Mad individuals ruling Abia”, the sorrowful youth could be heard saying.
“We shall use Labour Party to teach them a lesson.Just imagine a rainfall that did not last for up to,,30 minutes, yet flood has taken over Ngwa Road”, he said.
An anonymous source who spoke to Famousreporters.com said:
*We shall massively vote Alex Otti…
Reacting to the yearnings of the people, Chief Green Amankwe, a stakeholder of Abia State and of Labour Party, appealed to Aba residents and indeed, Abians to stay calm, assuring that “with Dr. Alex Otti, help is coming. Do not loose hope already found with Alex Otti, we shall change the narratives”, he said.
He described the Labour Party candidate, Otti as God-sent for the purpose of liberating the state and her citizens.
